Inspired by the YSL Cage Sandal in silver metallic leather {which are now on sale for $799}, and seen on Sea of Shoes, I decided to just make my own. Now, this would probably have been easier had I just used 1/8″ ribbon and glue to make the grid but I didn’t want it to look costume-y. And in the meantime, I also made a caged cuff and choker and I’m honestly thinking about making a belt but that would take forever.

What you’ll need . . .

Leather {I used an old leather skirt I don’t like}, ruler, razor, 3/8″ black ribbon for ankle {YSL’s are velvet, I used satin}, 1/8″ ribbon to tie on front {matching color – I spray painted mine but it kind of rubbed off}, silver heels & silver spray paint {if you have black heels, you can skip the spray paint}.
