Work It Out #TargetStyle // 20 Mins to a Dinner Date #OOTD

easy date night look -leopard belt

You know what’s really fun about working with brands? They always challenge me to think differently, to post a little bit outside of my blogging ritual, and really get my mind ticking and turning in new ways, and I love that.

My collaboration with Target and Mode Media has challenged me in more ways than one over the last few months and I hope it has been as fun for you as it has been for me! I mean, who doesn’t LOVE Target?!

My latest Target Style challenge is no different. The basic theme is that I’ve just finished my workday and have only 20 minutes to make it to an important occasion. With Target on the way to said important event, it’s easy to pull together a new look, makeup and beauty included, exclusively with products found and purchased at Target. I chose date night, but this ensemble can work for any weekday evening event or dinner date.

Unfortunately, I’m not as close to a Target store as I used to be, but that’s what’s so great about the internet! Last month I bought this great coated, faux leather pencil skirt, which is perfect for an evening out. It’s versatile and a great piece to start with. Using it as my focal point to base the rest of my outfit on made it easy to grab a few affordable items to pair with it in seconds flat. A simple fitted t-shirt is flattering without looking like you’re trying too hard. I’d prefer to tuck it in, but since my skirt was a little too big, wearing it out conceals and disguises while still flatters. Take along a great blazer {in your favorite color} to be there in case the evening gets brisk. Add a great pair of pumps, a few shimmering accessories, and a leopard print belt to finish the look.

Take daytime makeup up a notch with precision eyeliner to play up the eyes and a soft nude lip for the perfect pucker without looking “overly done”. Sweep on a quick coat of gold glitter nail lacquer to give your fingertips a bit of shimmer and a polished look.
