Wild Swimming in a Natural Eco-DIY Swimming Pool

DIY Organic Pools-7

I stumbled upon these DIY natural and organic swimming pools and was instantly intrigued. I love the idea, but I’m not sure I could really actually swim in one. Though I swim in the lake, which this seems to emulate, but smaller I guess, more like a pond, I still don’t really know what’s below me in the lake, and I like it that way. If I could see the fish and bugs and plants I was swimming alongside, I’m not sure I’d jump in at all.

But I love it for so many reasons. First, it’s completely chemical free so it’s healthy for people and wildlife. There are no chemical pesticides, which means the plants and animals maintain the health of the pool, oxygenating and filtering the water while removing the nutrients that allow algae to flourish. It uses solar energy for constant circulation, apparently costing a fraction of what a commercial chlorinated pool costs to build… AND you Do It Yourself!

Still, and as much as I hate chlorine {we’re working on a salt water hot tub situation} I’m not sure I’m hippie enough to swim wild. What do you guys think? They say in some organic pools, the water is so clean, it meets drinking standards.

It looks so awesome & so great for so many reasons, but I dunno… Tell me could you swim wild?
