Tyree Callahan’s Chromatic Typewriter

Another random SumbleUpon the other day led me to this really brilliant idea by artist Tyree Callahan who transformed a 1937 typewriter into not only a piece of art in and of itself, but a machine that creates beautiful art as well. He replaced the letters and keys with color pads, which I originally though were pastels and used hued labels to match.

I Pinned it the other day, but just haven’t gotten it out of my head. It’s really such a unique idea that I haven’t seen before. Oh how I would love to create something with it. I wonder how long it will take for a similar product to be on the market to buy?

You can go to Tyree Callahan’s Facebook page and blog for more info.
