St. Patrick’s Day Manicure | Trail Of Gold Nails

Just as I was growing out my nails for a fun St. Patrick’s Day manicure, 5 of them broke. It happens. So I changed plans. I’m really never one for super cutesy stuff, nail art included, so I thought I’d grab my emerald green and gold bits and create a sort of trail to a pot of gold, lol. The trail being all the other nails and the gold, the accent nail. I think they turned out fun, and though they are green, don’t scream St. Patrick’s Day, but it gets the job done. My green for the day, is taken care of.

Here’s What I Used…

* Sonia Kashuk “Emerald City” green polish
* Sephora OPI “Only Gold for Me”
* Seche Vite top coat {dries super quick!}
* Nail art rhinestones {I used small round gold ones for this, but these are fun to have!}
* MASH nail art tweezers

Here’s How I Did It…

* Prep your stones by laying them out right side up on your flat surface.

1. After allowing your first coat of polish to dry, TO EACH NAIL SEPARATELY paint another coat of your base color {green} – – I began with my accent nail first…
2. And applied a flower to begin with {because it kind of resembled a shamrock…
3. Then added a thick layer of chunky gold glitter polish…
4. Then placed 9-10 gold gems to really make this nail feel like a pot of gold, including one in the center of the flower.
5. For the remaining nails… I created a trail of gold gems, about 3 on each nail and in the direction of the main accent nail. Thumbs and pinkies were on an angle and first and middle were a little more straight. Paint each nail separately, then using your tweezers, carefully place your stones. The wet polish will set them in place.

* Drown them in your favorite top coat.
