The One Where I Show You How To Cut a Pineapple

how to cut a pineapple

I’ve mentioned before that cooking is not my strong suit. It’s not that I’m a bad cook, per se, I just hate the act of cooking. Okay, “hate” is maybe too strong a word. I’ll put it to you this way; I cook for our dogs twice a week because I have to. The husband and I order in or go out to eat almost daily. We’re both lazy when it comes to cooking anything more than soup or making a salad or a sandwich. {But that is going to change soon… more on that later.}

Confession: I did NOT know how to cut a pineapple before this day.

While I love pineapple, I’ve always gotten it pre-cut to eat. But since our friend Timmy was so kind to bring a pineapple to our Crocs party, I thought instead of watching it rot on our kitchen table, I’d cut it and eat it. And since I didn’t know how, I googled/found and watched this video on how to cut a pineapple and quickly learned this easy technique.

I thought I couldn’t be the ONLY one who didn’t know how to cut a pineapple… and thought I’d share the process with you through this long series of pretty photos. πŸ˜‰

But first, a few tips…

You can tell if your pineapple is ripe by tugging on the leaves {or A leaf} nearest the center. If they pluck out easily, you’re ready to cut.

Here’s What You’ll Need…

* Pineapple
* Knife
* Peeler
* Cutting board
* Bowl πŸ™‚

* Twist off your leaves…

* Cut off the top and bottom…

* Sheer off the sides without cutting off too much fruit…

* Use your peeler tip to pop out hard spots and brown spots {yuck}

* I really don’t like the hard parts…

* Cut into slices, whichever size you prefer…

* Cut around the center…

* Pop out the hard part… {yes, that’s the technical term for it}

* Cut into smaller parts.

Serve…

Or Eat…

Or just look at it…

Sure you could have just…

watched the video I watched to learn, but wasn’t this so much more fun? πŸ™‚ Happy Hump Day!
