The Mystery of My Golden Stumps {Side Tables} Solved

DSC_0258

When I found these golden tree stump side tables at The Sherman Oaks Antique Mall {for $25 each!!!!} I had to have them. They were just too unique to pass up and the price was ridiculously right. There is no designer stamp to be found on them and since they were used a bit I assumed they were vintage.

Upon flipping through a Wright 20 auction catalogue, I found {well, actually, drollgirl found} these “Golden Stools” by Patrik Fredrickson and Ian Stallard priced at $5-7K which were very close but not exactly what I had purchased.

My gold tree stump side tables finally found a home in our Rock and Roll video game room and they remain one of the most talked about pieces in our house.

Since I’ve updated the room just a bit, I thought I’d share a more recent photo (below) …though unfortunately it’s at night and a bit dark & lived in, but you get the idea {see our entire game room before/after here}

Last night I got another heads up from drollgirl about gold stump side tables at Joss and Main and squealed with excitement when I realized THEY ARE MY STUMPS!!

Not vintage at all but made in or around 2009/2010 by Mark and Julie Phillips -for the Phillips Collection …below are a few photos from their site/showroom collection.

I LOVE that I have the full story now of the origins of my golden stumps! Thank you drollgirl and Joss & Main!
