Take a Sad Song and Make it Better

retro style-60s mod-mini dress with tights

What I’m Wearing…

* Vintage military coat
* Black drop waist mini sweater dress by IISLI {seen here with leopard tights years ago}
* Bow tie blouse by W118 Walter Baker {also seen here with love story flare jeans}
* Ankle strap flats by Matt Bernson from Summer {seen here: Date Night & here: Striped dress & Trench}
* Bordeaux tights from American Apparel
* Vintage rings + chevron ring from Stella & Dot
* Box flap bag by Sophie Hulme

* Title: lyrics from The Beatles ‘Hey Jude’

I think the most fun thing about a new hair style or hair cut is that it changes the way I think about getting dressed. Sure I’ve worn versions of this exact look in the past, but it feels more complete now that the hair happens to match the decade a little better. A modern ’60s look or a full retro ’60s look is one of my favorites, and it’s fun to pull items new and old together to create it. Though this blouse has maybe more of a ’70s feel {?} it works

I do wish it would snow again, but it’s fun to wear alternatives in the mean time that don’t fully consist of a ridiculous amount of layers and snow boots. Though really, I love that too.
