Is It Too Much To Ask For Something Great

Striped midi skirt_50s modern look

What I’m Wearing…

* White pointed hem sweatshirt by English Factory {see it here with plaid & ripped jeans}
* Striped midi skirt by J.O.A. {from last year but this is the first time I’m wearing it} I linked to a similar one by the same brand since mine is sold out now
* Miss Vara mini bag in red by Salvatore Ferragamo
* White wedge sandals from Aldo {ancient! I have them in red too}… find similar ankle strap heels here

* Title: lyrics from One Direction ‘Something Great’

Feeling ultra-feminine in this modern ’50s getup complete with bright red lips and a floppy high messy ponytail! It’s a look that’s a little fluffier than I’d normally wear but I’m constantly switching up my style depending on my mood, so maybe not. A similar look from June 2013 seen here is a little more my norm in this style, but still feeling comfortable in it. I’d love to wear it with sneakers, which I will next time I wear it… but there’s a perfect flattering point with midi skirts and for me, it hits just under the knee where your leg narrows rather than mid-calf, where the leg is the widest. And this skirt is a TAD long, though rises and falls with movement, which makes it cute, but more flattering with heels. I happen to have huge muscly calves though, so this may not be the case with everyone, but I’ve definitely found skirts look better when they hit below the knee and above the calf.

It’s FINALLY warm enough for short sleeves and bare legs on the regular, which makes me so happy… because it finally means cute dresses on the regular and slinky feminine dresses as well… because SUMMER!!!
