Neutral Nail Art // French Manicure Twist

french tips twist_ nail art

I wanted to do a take on a classic French Manicure but add a twist. There are two reasons behind this: First, French Tips are a bit difficult to manage on your own, and are generally saved for nails which are much longer than mine. Second, though they’re a classic neutral, they can also look dated, so I wanted to create a look with the same colors in a fun nail art version, and I’m really kind of loving it. They’ve lasted just about a week now and the neutral tones make my hands and nails feel finished and modern without being flashy.

Anyway, it’s a simple nail art manicure that anyone can manage and though I used neutrals to mimic a French tip, any color combo would be fun.

Here’s What I Used…

* To really cover my nails, but to give them a natural look as if they weren’t painted I first applied one coat of my nude/flesh tone and let dry. Then I swiped a sheer pink over the top for a glossy finish.

* Once my neutral coat was done, I grabby my white polish and carefully created a diagonal line starting at the side cuticle and moving towards the top and filling in the blanks. Use a piece of tape on each nail to perfect the look or just freehand it if you’ve got a steady hand.

* Apply a second coat of white if you need extra coverage.

* Finish with your favorite top coat.

* Touch up any mistakes with the OPI Correct Cleanup pen.

And… Voila!
