White on White // My January Mantelscape

cow skull with flowers-mantels-mantel decorating ideas-white porcelain

I wasn’t quite ready to box up all my pretty floral Christmas tree ornaments just yet, so I found a new home for them on the cow skull above the fireplace… the horns to be exact. The purple and blues actually work really well against the facing dark gray walls of my living room and the lighter gray ceiling. But with my cow skull all decked out, I had to keep the rest of the decor in my mantelscape low-key. I went with an all-white color scheme to prevent a major clutter overload and keep the focal point on the flowered horns above. I already had a few white porcelain & ceramic pieces living there and added a few new ones {gifts from Alison} and then I wandered around the house scavenging white figurines and vases I thought would compliment the space. The large pots and vases around the hearth I pulled from our master bedroom. I’m constantly moving things from room to room and shelf to shelf… no object has a permanent home.

So… I’m kind of in love… for the moment anyway 😉
