My {OLD} Home Office & Dressing Room

my home office and dressing room - closet
* Welcome to my OLD home office where the …love Maegan magic happens *
* Find my New Home Office Posts Here

You’ve seen bits and pieces of it …you saw the decor details, you were there when I completely renovated my tall ikea dressers & DIY’d the black tassels to my silk curtains, when I organized my jewelry & accessories in the antique secretary desk, when I renovated my Grandma’s antique lamps and hung the wall hooks behind the door, when I DIY’d my inspiration cork tile wall, and when I finally cleaned & organized my closet.

But yes, I’ve dragged my feet on photographing and sharing my COMPLETE home office/dressing room with you because to me, it’s not finished yet …but I’ve been saying that for months now which leaves me with one conclusion: it will never be finished because I am a freak.

I’ve come to terms with it and decided to share …today.

So please enjoy my ultra-feminine home office and dressing room tour.

BUT FIRST: Remember what it looked like before, just thrown together…

And now…

Ikea expedit desk in home office with zebra rug and panton chair
How does it compare to when we first moved in & the inspiration post I created for it?

home office desk with ikea shelves
Product info: besides the few antiques, it’s almost completely Ikea!

* Ikea 6×6′ Expedit with attached desk …two cubby doors and three sets of cubby drawers

* White chair on opposite side of my desk is the Panton Chair from Design Within Reach

* Office chair is Aeron Chair which I’ve had for almost a decade now.

* Round zebra rug is by NuLoom and I got it at GILT. It was the very first thing I bought for this house.

* Three short Ikea dressers side by side were in our master bedroom in our old condo. We’ve had them for almost as long as we’ve been together.

* Two side narrow dressers were also from Ikea and were birch with ugly handles. I painted them and added the lion’s head pulls. We’ve also had these forever, one of each was in both of our closets at the old place.

* Pink crocodile studded ottoman {where I sit to put my shoes on} is actually from Lamps Plus, a random find for $75 when I bought the black lamp shades but it’s only $49 now!

* Bench/storage under the large window was actually free …drollgirl and I found a few behind the building of the gallery and we snatched them up …and by behind the building I mean, in the trash 😉

* White Silk curtains are from Bed Bath and Beyond {I added the tassels} and the Confetti System works as a window treatment for the smaller, higher window {and flutters in the breeze, which I just love}.

* This antique secretary desk was my Grandma’s and was hand-painted by my Grandpa in the 60’s. She always had it in her entryway with her checkbooks and pens but I actually keep all my jewelry & accessories in it …and much of it was hers.

While it may never be finished, I am truly in love with the space which I spend most of my time in. It’s a constant source of creativity and inspiration for me.

And just in case you couldn’t really get a feel for the space from the photos {it’s really difficult to photograph it well}, I made a little video tour for you as well. Enjoy.
