Let the Rain Come Down // #StepIntoTheSeason with Zappos

* Sponsored by Zappos

What I’m Wearing…

* Vintage military coat
* Ivory sweater
* Vintage silk neck scarf
* Wool hat
* 3.1 Phillip Lim sunglasses
* Black jeans
* Marc Jacobs bag
* Aquatalia black leather ankle boots

I am in LOVE with these boots!

I partnered with Zappos and Aquatalia as part of their #StepIntoTheSeason campaign and was super excited and grateful to get to work with brands I already know and love.

We all know Zappos is literally THE PLACE to find amazing shoe brands like Aquatalia, whose high-end boots and shoes are made from the softest leather I’ve ever felt. The quality and comfort is off the charts and to top it off, they’re weatherproof too.

I was looking for a new pair of chunky heeled boots for the winter, and with the little platform, I worried they’d be a little bit too high, but they’re perfect. And I can’t even believe how soft they are to slip on and how comfortable they are to wear and walk in. They’re classic and trendy at the same time and clearly make this casual outfit just a little bit cooler, and I love that.

I’m actually super excited for winter this year, which is a little baffling based on how scared I was headed into the winter season last year. It was the first year I had to brave it alone, and though I did have some terrifying moments, I made it! And knowing that I made it through last year, has allowed me to be so much calmer about it this year, and actually look forward to it like I used to.

Yes the power outages are horrible, and yes shoveling snow is difficult, but it’s all so beautiful really, and knowing I can brave the storms, so to speak, because I did it last winter, makes me feel a little bit safer this year. Knowing that I’m less resistant and more open to all the things I can’t control assures me that it will be easier and possibly even FUN this year… and even if it is all in my mind, it’s still a magical feeling.
