Lazy Sunday: Books & Tea

books and tea the nine rooms of happiness

With all the great distractions in our modern world I find it more and more difficult to make time for reading. This year however, I have vowed to not only finish all the books I’ve started {which is a handful} but to make room for a few new ones as well.

Thanks to some great advice from a lovely reader {of my blog}, I have been reading The Mood Curethe mood cure, books on my Kindlekindle wireless reading device which is helping me differentiate between real and false moods and how to boost serotonin and other mood enhancing brain chemicals naturally.

But when I heard about this new book The Nine Rooms of Happiness: Loving Yourself, Finding Your Purpose, and Getting Over Life’s Little Imperfections I thought it would be a perfect companion. Why not work on both physical and mental aspect of health for overall well being? I love the idea of compartmentalizing our emotions and behavior patterns into rooms and somehow think it really may be the key to figuring it all out …whatever that may be.

So that’s what I’m doing for the rest of this dreary Sunday afternoon …even though I have 100 things nagging at me to “get done”, sometimes I need to shut it all out and make time for me …and today that means getting comfy and cozy, quieting my mind and focusing on a great book, or two.
