* Title: Guns N’ Roses – November Rain… an obvious title choice, but so fantastic, I couldn’t help it . . . When I look into your eyes, I can see a love restrained… But darlin’ when I hold you, Don’t you know I feel the same… ‘Cause nothin’ lasts forever, And we both know hearts can change… And it’s hard to hold a candle, In the cold November rain… And when your fears subside, And shadows still remain… I know that you can love me, When there’s no one left to blame.

This was one of my FAVORITE videos at the time when music videos were SUCH a big thing. I was a obsessed with everything about it, starting with Axl playing the piano, to Stephanie Seymour’s wedding dress, to Slash’s guitar solo out in the desert sand in front of a tiny chapel, to the rain falling, ruining the wedding, and signifying everything good is about to turn bad. The piano comes back in heavy and the song completely changes and turns dark AF and Seymour is laying in a coffin at her funeral and the white bouquet of roses flung into the rain, turns red as it lands on the closed coffin and the rain washes the color back out to white…. God I forgot how much I actually LOVED this song, and clearly the video is epic.

I must’ve been 15 when this song was released and it’s still my favorite Guns N’ Roses song ever.

It was raining and misty and foggy when we shot these photos the other day and I worried they wouldn’t work at all… but instead, they turned out kind of magical and I am constantly astounded by my mom’s ability to capture my outfits in a way that I’ve always wanted and never have been able to until now. It’s crazy how a change forces you to rethink everything and get creative and figure out how do things differently, and then they end up better. This is why I actually love and embrace change… as difficult as the transition may be, the end result is always better.

I’m a little scattered at the moment and in another transition within all the transitions and all kinds of feelings and emotions are swirling in and around and throughout, I know that in the end, all will be as it should be and better than it is now and ever was. It’s hard to remember that in the midst of the fog, but when the sun shines again, it’ll be brighter than ever. That’s what I have to remember, even in the cold November rain.
