Handbag Hunting : The Bucket Bag

Salvatore Ferragamo Bucket Bags

I’m not sure I’d call it a classic just yet but the Bucket Bag does tend return to the fashion must-have list often enough that in due time, it will be considered a classic.

I believe it all started with the Louis Vuitton “Noe” bag, originally created in 1932 to carry bottles of champagne {how chic, right?}, which became a staple in many wardrobes in the 80’s and 90’s. In 2009, we briefly saw the drawstring pop it’s cute little head out on runways and magazines but this Spring we’re seeing an even bigger number of designers creating their version of it. My guess though, is that the trend won’t be in full bloom until maybe next Spring/Summer …but for those of you who think fashion forward I know you’d love to have the perfect bucket bag on hand just in time.

There are a handful of fantastically splurge-worthy bucket bags, like the three soft & buttery Salvatore Ferragamo bucket bags above, but I’ve compiled a little group of lovely little bucket bags in various price ranges below.
