DIY DECOR Inspiration // Tiled Tables

retro furniture, tiled coffee tables
If you’ve been noticing design trends reminiscent of the ’80s, you are not alone. The soft pastels and big bulky rounded edges on everything from sofas and chairs, to tables, architecture and even kitchen islands, surprisingly looks fresh and new again. And for those born after the ’80s, it probably looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before… and it’s nothing I’ve ever seen before because the new ’80s look has a cool retro vibe that’s much less in your face and much more soft and subtle and I actually really like it.

I remember when at one point marble floors and gold hardware seemed so gaudy and outdated but for the past few years we’ve MARBLED EVERYTHING and now suddenly simple grouted tiles seem so fresh and unexpected again… especially when you think of it on anything BUT countertops.

tiled table
Case in point… I spotted this little pink tiled coffee table on Pinterest (above) and after having horrible bathroom decor flashbacks, was completely drawn to it… and I found myself down a full tiled tables rabbit hole trying to find the original source for the photo (above), which of course, I could not. But in the midst of my search, I’ve found tons of inspiration photos that have gotten my creative juices flowing and have me looking around my house wondering what little tables I can (have Chad) tile (for me) 🙂

Here are a few of my faves for DIY inspiration!

These smaller tiles are giving me Rubik’s Cube vibes, but I don’t hate them.

soft pink tiled coffee table
I REALLY like the coffee table idea best with the top AND legs tiled, but this dining room table (below) looks fresh and modern in this space!

This DIY tiled cube above has pink grout! That’s a super cute idea!

This is SUCH a fun space!

I also love this idea of a tiled tray!
