Last year Allie created a painting every day for 100 days and sold nearly every one of them. From soft abstract landscapes and still lifes in bright neons, in large and small formatted canvases, Allie’s paintings had a dreamlike quality that were soothing to look at.
This year, however, she’s doing something very different and focusing on photography as a medium rather than paint, yet many of her photos have a painterly quality about them that are just stunning.
Here’s what Allie said about this year’s 100 Day Project…
I wanted to flex a muscle that I use often in The Wonder Jam while incorporating props that I pick up, plants, products that I love and art that I create and do 100 Days Of Styling.
I’m already realizing how different this year’s project will be compared to last year. Last year, I always had all the tools I needed with my drawer of paints, my brushes and canvas. This year I’ll have the daily decision of which props or subject matter to use. Should I go to the grocery for food? Should I cook? Should I use what I have? How will I source that obscure location? I need a model! I need to craft! I should collaborate with… Do I need to go thrifting? When should I execute a more complex idea? How should I take advantage of natural or studio light to accomplish my vision? Not only is this a challenge in styling but I’m also experimenting with lighting and editing techniques.
