All Black Everything… Lace & Jersey for Evening

lace and jersey - summer date night

What I’m Wearing…

* Old black lace wrap top… find a similar black lace top here and crochet black top here
* Black maxi skirt with fold over top c/o Buckley K
* Vintage sunglasses… similar shapes here and here
* Marni platforms in black {from a few years ago} – though I would have preferred to wear something a little more like these I think – looking back
* Miss VARA Bow Mini Bag in red by Salvatore Ferragamo

I always opt for black on black for date night, I’m not sure why… maybe because it’s easy and maybe because I assume I can get away with a little more sauciness if I’m in head to toe black? I’m not sure, but it’s definitely the time that I dress more for my husband than for myself. Though when I was younger, and saucier all-together, I probably dressed more like this more often. Maybe it’s my age or maybe it’s just that styles change and whatever feels fresh and modern at the time is what I lean towards.

I usually wear this old lace top {that I love because it’s uber flattering} with a black tank underneath, but here I wore it simply with a satin flesh-toned bra and it looked better than ever and the bra was somehow completely disguised as well. I tend to offset an all black outfit with a red bag as well. I can’t say it’s a signature style, but it is something I always do. It’s fun to dress a little saucy every now and again, especially on date night, don’t you think?
